Let me just say here that when it comes to the integrity of sweet eating in a healthy lifestyle, nothing could be better and more satisfying than nature’s own desserts. Several cultures around the world commonly eat a piece of fruit as dessert. Crazy you say? Too bland to even think about? Let your taste buds savor a sweet, ripe pear or peach once and play with the idea. In the meantime you can go over the following list of natural selections to encourage you.

  Nature’s Desserts:

 Figs

Dates

Peaches

Pears

Plums

Strawberries

Blueberries

Apricots

Golden or Red Delicious apples

Oranges

Tangerines

Lychee seeds

Bing cherries

Red or purple grapes

And for the sake of variety, now that you have contemplated that list you can take a gander at the following recipes that are not only easy to make but they are relatively good for you, too!

 Avocado Chocolate Mousse

2 tablespoons cacao powder (not to be confused with cocoa powder!)

1 ripe avocado, peeled and pitted

¼ cup and 2 teaspoons Raw honey or your choice of sweetener

2 cups unsweetened coconut milk

 Directions:

Add the coconut milk, honey and cacao powder together in a blender or food processor and mix on high.

Cut the avocado into chunks to facilitate the blending process, then throw it into the blender as well and mix until you have a silky consistency.

Pour into a small bowl, cup or storage container. Serve immediately or refrigerate to thicken further.
